Best of 2003 (Complete)

OK, here is a more complete and indepth list of my Best of 2003 in music.
Every man, woman and child should use this as their Bible to know what is good in music. Their lives will be much better for it. :-)

The Be Good Tanyas - Chinatown ***A wonderful blend of Traditional Folk,
Alt-Folk with a hint of traditional country. Also the album has a nefty
cover of "House of the Rising Sun."

Kristofer Astrom & Hidden Truck - Dead end (EP) ***This artist has been my
crown jew discover of 2003! A swedish artist who only has 1 EP released in
the US so far. I liked him so much I ordered his whole catalog from his
record company in Sweden! Every track on this five song EP is a gem! Every
song is different, ranging from Alt-Rock to Folk, with a touch of country
thorwn in, and some Adult-Alt. The highlight of the EP is probably Astrom's
cover of the children's song, "You Are My Sunshine." As quirking as it
sounds, this song destoryes any visions of happy children gleefully singing.
He has made the song his, and turned it into a sad, depressing folk/blues
wonder. I HIGHLY recommend EVERY CD from his catalog!

Andrew Bird - Fingerlings ***Former aux member of Squirrel Nut Zipper.
Bird plays the violin and does some incredible things with it. His live
shows are amazing. His music rangers from swing to true alternative.

Erin McKeown - Grand ***Miss McKeown is such a joy! This is another
brilliant release from her.

Guster - Keep It Together ***Not my favorite release from Guster, but a
good one non-the-less. They are a fun group with a nice sound! This album is
a little more polished and "happy" compared to others.

Liz Phair - Liz Phair ***I know some people who are Liz fans will grown at
this. For Liz, this album wasn't very great, and disappointed fans
everywhere. But in the overall spectrum of music in 2003, I liked it. I kind
of listened to it like this was a new artist I hadn't heard something from
before.

Rachael Sage - Public Record ***I got my first CD of hers in 97-98. She
has some great song writting, and beautiful songs. Glad to see this album is
getting some good press, and some airplay in some areas!

Ween - Quebec ***Good ole' Ween! This band is a blast to see live! This CD
covers the musical spectrum from A-Z. About the only thing it doesn't have
is Christian DeathMetal Rap on it.

Ben Folds - Speed Graphic (EP) ***One of Two great EPs released by Ben.
This one contains my fav song of the bunch, "Wandering." The song appeared
in the theater classic *cough* "100 Girls" and I had been searching for it,
as the movie didn't have a soundtrack produced. This EP was my salvation!

Tori Amos - Tales Of A Librarian ***Tori is my all time fav probably. I
discovered her in '94 and have been in love ever since. This is just a
greatest hits collection, which isn't too exciting to a long time fan, but
it is a great place to start for anyone wanting to try Tori out.

Joss Stone - The Soul Sessions ***This gal can sing!

Fountains Of Wayne - Welcome Interstate Managers ***I was happy to see a
new release from these guys. I had kind of thought they were dead. What a
fun group, with witty, intelligent, lyrics, and catchy shameless pop riffs
and hooks. I recommend every FoW album!

Sarah McLachlan - Afterglow ***I had some big fears about this album
before it came out...but now that it is out, I LOVE IT. The reason I love
it? Becuase it sounds like Sarah McLachlan. Yes i know that is kind of an
odd statement, but after such a long layoff, and having a baby, and with the
whole "lilith thing" considered passe, I was affraid she might try to
reinvent herself, but if anything she reverted a little in her sound, which
in my book is a good thing. This album compares the most to Fumbling Toward
Ecstasy, which I would say was the pinnacle of her albums, up to this point.

Brenda Weiler - Cold Weather ***Great indie alt-folker, who is finally
getting some notice!

Patty Griffin - A Kiss in Time ***A live offering from this AMAZING singer
and songwritter! I have been in love with her since the first time I hear
"Flamming Red" back in 98. What a voice! What lyrics! What a pure joy for
your senses!!!

Madden 2k4 (PC) or Maybe Any PC Game for 63% off

Ripped from SlickDeals.net.
Target stores are selling Madden 2k4 (PC) for $14.88, originally priced at 39.99 or 63% off.

If the Target store is out of this game, most dont carry a large number, you can get a rain check for the game. On the raincheck, it says "Choose a substitute and receive the same percentage off (listed above) on a regular-priced item within the same product category (i.e. TV for TV, doll for doll, shirt for shirt)." This would mean you would get the 63% off any other PC game in stock! Your mileage may vary. Thanks silverceli.

Also, add a 550 watt power supply for $20 (I highly recommend going with a good high end power suppy, but hey for $20, it's worth a shot!)
